Vehicles in German Town Discovered Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Officers mentioned they were contacted by a individual who noticed a car in Hanau smeared with red-colored substance

Roughly fifty vehicles have been covered with what appears to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Cars, building surfaces and mailboxes were marked, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they reported in a release.

Law enforcement state they were notified during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident observed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued liquid.

The liquid had been placed in the form of a swastika, they added.

Law enforcement then located many other vandalized automobiles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials say early analysis indicate the substance was probably human bodily fluid.

"There is still no clue as to where it came from; officials are currently not cognizant of any physical harm in connection with the event," they commented.

Municipal representatives said they were trying "to resolve the case" and have requested to the public for information.

A senior representative commented the vandalism rendered him stunned and needed to be solved rapidly.

"This event strikes at the center of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the extremist violent incident in 2020," he posted on social media, mentioning the killing of nine people by a shooter aiming at people of immigrant origin in 2020.
